Thompson campaign scrambles after weekend gaffes
Former Wisconsin governor and U.S. Senate hopeful Tommy Thompson has been known for putting his foot in his mouth in the past. But this past weekend, he had some help from his son.
Jason Thompson, 38, was caught on camera at a Republican event calling for Obama to be sent “back to Chicago, or Kenya.”
Tommy Thompson also had his own verbal flounder over the weekend, calling his opponent, Rep. Tammy Baldwin, “anti-Jewish.”

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney wants Northern Virginians to know he has their best interests at heart — even seemingly small ones, like Virginia’s supposed Lyme Disease epidemic.
Romney is distributing literature that promises he will work to curb incidences of the disease, which generally affects less than 1,000 Virginians a year. In Northern Virginia, though, the issue is of high importance: Loudoun County officials declared this past May was Lyme Disease Awareness month. (via The Washington Post)
